Chasing Shadows
October 8 - November 14, 2021
Juror's Statement
"I found that after reviewing and making my selections for inclusion in the Chasing Shadows exhibit, it was important for me to share, first of all, my gratitude and honor in taking on this responsibility.
Beyond the criteria of viewing each unique piece for attention to a basic understanding of line, composition, texture, use of mediums and presentation, I was humbled by the descriptions of each artist's creative journey. The courageous entry into creative chaos and risk taking that is so necessary for an artist is evident within each work.
Each artist found their footing somewhere within nature, ancient history and traditions, healing voyages or old but newly emerging political issues. I go away from this artwork with a renewed understanding of how truly connected we all are in healing, celebrating and organically embracing this fragile planet of ours.
Chasing Shadows has required each of these wonderful artists to portray a self-portrait. Be it conscious or from the realms of the subconscious. I encourage each viewer to be still and allow yourself to find your unique entry point into each of these creative pieces."

As one of our artist’s beautifully stated,
“I’ve always found comfort in the shadows.”
