Celebrate the longest day of the year with the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center! The Summer Solstice Art Festival is a new two-day arts and culture event centering around Webster’s Woods. This event will offer unique and interactive art experiences for visitors of all ages!

New Installations
We will celebrate the installation of four new artworks in Webster’s Woods Sculpture Park! Participating artists will be present throughout the weekend to meet with visitors and share about their creative process.

Hands-On Art + Artist Demos
We will feature hands-on art opportunities for children as well as adults, such as using sunlight to create cyanotype prints (an antique photography process) and creating Solstice crowns. Additionally, artist demos will provide visitors with the opportunity to learn more about artistic processes such as raku pottery.

Book Launch + Poetry Reading
We will enjoy a poetry reading in the gallery and the launch of Carmen Germain's new book, The Old Refusals.
During her time as a visiting artist/scholar at the American Academy in Rome, she researched the work of post-war novelist Elsa Morante; some of the poems in The Old Refusals had their genesis in Italy.

Educational Talks + Tours
A schedule of educational talks and tours throughout the event will emphasize the arts, history, and the natural environment.

pARTicipation Art Exhibit
Our pARTicipation art exhibit in the Esther Webster Gallery will engage viewers of all ages with unique, interactive contemporary art.

Makers' Market
An outdoor Makers’ Market will feature numerous vendor booths selling original art and artisan-made goods; the market is centrally located along the main pathway between the park entrance and the open meadow.
