Barbara SlavikEducation DirectorBarbara Slavik has held the assistant’s position at PAFAC since 1990. During that time she has evolved the ArtPaths education program into a staple of Peninsula arts education.
Born and raised in Ohio, she earned a BFA in Art at Ohio State University and an MA in Art from San Diego State University. Between 1979 and 1988 she held faculty appointments at San Diego State University, Palomar College and Mesa College where she established the Mesa College Art Gallery and served as its first director from 1984-88. On the Olympic Peninsula she has taught painting at Peninsula College and art at Crescent High School. Her work was featured in Washington Women Sculptors at the Bellevue Art Museum in 1993. She has had solo shows at Sushi Gallery in San Diego and at the Dinnerware Gallery in Tucson, AZ. Her work has also been shown at the Paris Gibson Gallery in Great Falls, MT, the James Crumley Gallery at Mira Costa College and at the Los Angeles Design Center, among others. |
