Workshop: Preparing Images for Submission to Art Competitions
Led by Jan Dove
Saturday, April 20, 11am - noon(ish)
FREE -- space is limited, please RSVP
Artist Jan Dove will guide participants through the process of preparing digital images for entry into art exhibitions and competitions. She will review different file formats and their uses, image cropping, color correction, reading a histogram, file resolution, and file size requirements. Please bring a laptop (best option) or tablet (adequate but not ideal) as well as at least one image of your art taken in good light on a neutral background on a good digital camera (a cell phone camera is good for the internet but less than ideal for the high quality images that make your submissions stand out)
Jan says: I will be demonstrating in Photoshop on a MAC. If you wish to use another platform, I can help you with that, but only after MAC user questions are dealt with. It is ideal but not necessary to subscribe to Photoshop; we will explore free and low-cost apps and web-based applications. PAFAC will provide WiFi & electricity!
Please note: participants are expected to have basic computer literacy, including the ability to open, save, and send files, and the ability to navigate the internet.
