CABINET OF WONDERSOctober 9 6-11 PM
Save the Date!! • The Port Angeles Fine Arts Center kicks off the Harvest season on Saturday, October 9th with its annual extravaganza – The Cabinet of Wonders. The Center’s biggest and most important fundraiser of the year, now in its fourth incarnation, it’s the annual not-to-be-missed party, bringing together great people, sumptuous food, lively entertainment, hot dancing and a terrific auction of unique must-haves. The title Cabinet of Wonders refers to the curio cabinets of exotic and unique collectibles, which were the forerunners of modern museums, and it has become an enduring concept with which to frame the eclectic components of this soiree. Each year there is a decorating theme that showcases the creative talents of our Friends membership, who pour ingenuity and gusto into transforming the classic architecture of the Masonic Temple into a festive theme park. This year the Cabinet takes on an Asian flavor in both décor and cuisine. The auctioneer will be Sequim comedian, Mike Piper, who will blend levity with opportunity in offering a fabulous line-up of unique collectibles, antiques, trips, gourmet excursions and always intriguing artworks. There will be dozens of silent auction items, too, to tempt a wide range of tastes and budgets. Tickets are $75 per person and are available by phone, mail or in person from the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, or in person at Port Book and News. Watch here for late breaking details.

Auction PreviewFollowing are the vital statistics of our fabulous auction items, and more are still coming in! The list will be updated and tweaked until Saturday. You can browse to any of the categories by clicking on the titles below. This year we will be opening the auction to online pre-bidding. You may post a bid by email (pafac@olypen.com) on any item if it is at least the minimum amount. Please indicate the identifying number, or letter in the case of Live items. The highest pre-bid will be entered as the opening bid on the item and will be open to being trumped by COW attendees. The current high pre-bid will be updated daily until midnight on Friday, October 8 when pre-bidding closes.
