Call to Artists
For Art Outside 2015 - 2016
Submissions accepted now through May 16, 2015
The Port Angeles Fine Arts Center is now seeking proposals from artists for the 16th season of Art Outside in our Webster’s Woods Art Park. There are two opportunities for artists: 1) create a site-specific work of art or 2) install an existing sculpture. The selected works will join the more than 100 that can be discovered along the 5 acres of woodland trails.
Timeline
Final Submission date: Saturday, May 16, 2015 by 5pm to PAFAC
Selected Artists notified by: Saturday, May 23, 2015
Artists’ Installation period: Saturday, June 13 through June 19, 2015
Opening Reception: Saturday, June 20, 2015
De-installation: Completed by Saturday, May 7, 2016
Final Submission date: Saturday, May 16, 2015 by 5pm to PAFAC
Selected Artists notified by: Saturday, May 23, 2015
Artists’ Installation period: Saturday, June 13 through June 19, 2015
Opening Reception: Saturday, June 20, 2015

Eligibility:
Sculptors from across the nation over the age of 18 years of age are welcome to submit an application for participation in the 16th Annual Art Outside exhibition by 5pm on May 16, 2015.
Conditions:
Applicants are strongly encouraged to visit the Webster’s Woods Art Park to have an awareness of the Park’s rugged, urban outdoor environment. Installation of sculpture will require final approval by the curator and must be:
· Suitable for family viewing
· Able to withstand adverse weather conditions for a full year
· Soundly constructed and durable
· Original and available for purchase
· Anchored or secured to prevent theft
Provided by PAFAC:
· Selected sculptures will be displayed one year (until May 7, 2016)
· Artist participating will receive an $500 stipend for loaning the work
· PAFAC will retain any pieces sold until the end of the exhibit and receive a 30% commission on any sales
· Sculptures selected for the exhibition will compete for Peoples Choice cash prize of $500 (winner chosen by public vote after installation)
· The exhibiting work will be displayed on the PAFAC web site and will continue to promote the exhibit throughout the year
Artist’s Responsibilities:
· Artists are responsible for transportation of their work and all aspects of installation (PAFAC will not supply any tools or equipment) so that it will be ready for display by the end of the day June 19, 2015.
· All selected sculptures must be for sale
· Artists will be required to hold harmless the PAFAC and the City of Port Angeles from any claim of damage from any cause whatsoever, or loss of artworks during the period the sculpture is displayed.
· Any images submitted or photographs taken of the art work submitted for consideration may be used by PAFAC to promote or advertise the exhibit.
· Work not de-installed by May 7, 2016 will become the property of PAFAC.
· Artist will be asked to participate in the Summer Solstice Festival and reception for the new Art Outside sculptures event on Saturday June 20, 2015 at PAFAC.
